Cruppers are a traditional method of keeping a saddle from sliding forward on a pony's back. This is a very common problem with well-rounded ponies or if riding down hills.
This nicely made crupper from Smith-Worthington includes a tail piece that's rounded and filled with flax seeds for comfort. A leather 'T' fits into the saddle channel without causing damage. There are three sets of buckles for easy size adjustment and for ease of putting on and taking off.
The total length of the crupper including tee adjusts from 28 to 33 inches but may be made smaller by punching additional holes. The measurement is the overall length, end to end, including the Tee piece, which is 4 inches long. The Tee piece can also be removed so the crupper can be used with the dee ring on the saddle.
