Equine Healthcare International (EHI), the makers of the ProSeries Derby bits, have come out with an Essentials bit line for ponies.

The bits are finely crafted with cheek pieces that are proportional for ponies. They come in a full range of pony sizes and the dee ring measures 3" high and 2.56" wide.

French link snaffle bits are very popular. These double-jointed bits have a short, flat link at the center. This piece is made to lay flat on the horse’s tongue and allow the entire mouthpiece to form a bit better to the natural shape where a bit lays in a pony's mouth and applies pressure to the tongue.

Unlike regular snaffle bits that have a nutcracker effect, French link snaffle bits keep the mouthpiece low in the horse’s mouth
