Merlin Goes to a Show
Rosehaven Merlin went to his first hunter breeding show last weekend. He's a Welsh Section B yearling and even though he went to one Welsh show this summmer, this was quite a new experience for him! He had a trailer ride, a new stall and got to see lots of horses and ponies. His mane and tail were braided for the first time.
For preparation, he was body clipped and we practiced leading him in a bridle and posing him with his head down and neck stretched out. He has a small, fine head and the Americana Small Pony bridle fit him perfectly with a 4" British Dee. They have nice small dee rings for the young ponies.
The show was held at the beautiful Magic Hill Farms facility and was held over two days. The first day was warm and held outside but the second day was cold and windy and was in their gorgeous indoor. Merlin got to see a lot of new things and even got a Reserve Best Young Pony - perfect experience for a young pony!
