European gag straps (often referred to as Cheltenham or running gag straps) are specialized leather with nylon ropes used with gag bits, connecting the bridle’s headpiece directly to the reins through the bit rings. They enable the bit to slide up, applying lift to the corners of the mouth and encouraging the horse to raise its head.

The Equestro gag straps are made with dark brown leather, black nylon ropes and stainless steel rings and buckles. The rings easily loop on and off to attach the straps to the bit.
