1. excellent bit for a "rushy" horse or pony.

   As described this bit does provide tongue relief for those ponies and horses that don't react well to tongue pressure or bits that hinge in the middle (single or double joint snaffle bits). My pony reacts to that type of bit pressure by leaning into the bit hard, and rushing through the bit/ no half halt. With this bit the improvement was immediate, he relaxes into contact now, his gaits are more relaxed and swingy, he is not showing tension due to being uncomfortable with the bit. I would measure the mouth the same for this shape of bit as with others- I did not size up because the cheeks are D ring and he seems fine with that. I have a small horse that I also use this bit for, and she has fleshy lips but a narrow jaw, and prefers a bit that is one size larger than what I measured. Too narrow, and her cheeks get rub marks.
